On this page

This page lists every metric used in the Track My Visibility application, with a short definition and where you'll find it. For more detail on the four core metrics, see Visibility, Position, Sentiment and Share of Voice.

The metrics are grouped by what they measure: your brand, your prompts, the sources AI models cite, your products, ads, crawler activity and opportunities.

Brand metrics#

Visibility#

The percentage of AI responses to your tracked prompts that mention your brand. Shown on the Overview, Prompts, Scoreboard and Performance views.

Average Position#

Where your brand appears among the brands named in an answer, averaged across the responses that mention you. Lower is better, and 1.0 means you were named first every time.

Sentiment and Net Sentiment#

A score for how positively AI models describe your brand when they mention it. Net Sentiment is the average across all answers that mention your brand, and it's shown on the Overview dashboard.

Share of Voice#

Your brand's mentions as a share of all brand mentions in AI answers to your prompts. There's no single Share of Voice screen. You build the picture from the Overview and Performance pages.

Rank#

Your place among the brands you track, shown on the Rank card on the Overview dashboard.

Prompt metrics#

Ranked First, Mentioned and Not Mentioned#

The three groups on the AI Visibility card. A prompt is Ranked First if at least one AI model named you first, Mentioned if you appeared but not first, and Not Mentioned if no model named you.

Branded and non-branded visibility#

Your visibility split between prompts that include your brand name and prompts that don't, shown on the Prompt Type Split card.

Frequently asked questions#

What is the most important AI visibility metric?

Visibility is the most important starting point, because it shows how often AI models mention your brand at all. Position, Sentiment and Share of Voice then show how prominently, how positively and how competitively you're mentioned.

What is the difference between visibility and Share of Voice?

Visibility is the percentage of AI answers that mention your brand. Share of Voice is your brand's mentions as a share of all brand mentions in those answers, so it shows how you compare with your competitors.

Average Position is where your brand appears among the brands named in an AI answer, averaged across the answers that mention you. A lower number is better, and 1.0 means AI models named you first every time.

What is win rate for products?

Win rate is the percentage of AI shopping responses in which a product was ranked first among the product results. It shows how often AI models recommend that product above the alternatives.

What is ad coverage in AI answers?

Ad coverage is the percentage of your tracked prompts that returned at least one ad. It shows how much of your category's AI conversation includes paid placements.
